Liebe Kollegen,
unsere amerikanischen Freunde in Lomira, Wisconsin waren tief bestürzt über Adrians Tod.
Ihre Trauer war besonders tief, nicht nur weil sie Adrian sehr mochten, sondern auch weil vor 2 Jahren der 17jährige Bruder eines amerikanischen Austauschschülers sich das Leben genommen hatte.
Um diesem Jungen und Adrian zu gedenken, hat Adrians Gastfamilie mit anderen Schülern ein Benefizkonzert am 29.05. veranstaltet, bei dem sie $800 eingesammelt haben. Dieses Geld spenden sie der Organisation „SAVE“ („Suicide Awareness Voices Education“).  Ferner findet ein Lebenslauf am 18.09. in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin statt, der von der „AFSP“ („American Foundation for Suicide Prevention“) organisiert wird. Adrians Gastvater, Mark Bannach, hat ein Team zusammengestellt unter dem Namen „Für immer Adrian“ und nimmt mit anderen Freunden Adrians von der High School daran teil.
In Herr Bannachs Spendenbrief (unten aufgeführt) wird deutlich, wie Adrian - auch in den USA - die Herzen von vielen Menschen gewonnen hat. Er war in der Tat ein sehr besonderer Mensch.
 
Dear Friend,
I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide to walk in AFSP's Out of the Darkness
Community Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. My personal fundraising goal is $3000. I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause.
My "German son", Adrian Esch, left us on April 28, 2010. He left behind loving parents in Daun, Germany. He also left a huge hole in the hearts of many friends in many countries. Adrian was so special. He left such a loving, positive impression on everybody he met. In the short time he stayed with my family, I grew to love him like a son. I continue to feel the pain of his loss daily. I hope and pray that through this walk, awareness is raised and some tragedies can be averted.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 33,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
